WEEKEND SPORTS: Mitchell Track & Field begins in Brookings, Loaded DWU sports weekend, Twins play two more against the Orioles and Timberwolves face Pistons on ABC

Mitchell

The Kernel track & field teams get their season started this Saturday. They’ll be over in Brookings, SD on the campus of South Dakota State at their Indoor Track Facility for a Varsity Invitational. Start time is listed as TBA on the Mitchell Activities calendar.

DWU

The Tiger track & field teams will each be competing again on Saturday. They’ll still be competing in the Wildcat Classic in Wayne, NE, and it is the final day of the event. Start time is listed as 11am for the men and the women.

The Tiger softball team will be on the road this Saturday. They are going to be in Seward, NE to take on the Concordia in more Great Plains Athletic Conference action. It is a doubleheader and the first pitch will be at 1pm in Heritage Park.

The Tiger men’s and women’s golf teams are competing in the same event on Saturday and Sunday. They’ll play in the Bethel Spring Invitational, and it is a two-day event. They’ll be in Newton, KS and they’ll start early in the morning.

The Tiger baseball teams will return home for some baseball this Sunday. They’ll be hosting the Waldorf Warriors for Kids Day at Drake Field. The first pitch will be at 1pm.

MLB

The Minnesota Twins will play their second game of their opening series of the year against Baltimore on Saturday. They’ll remain in Baltimore to face the Orioles and first pitch is at 3:05pm on MLB TV/FS1. They’ll follow it up with a third game on Sunday at 12:35pm on MLB TV.

NBA

The Minnesota Timberwolves will be at home for their next game, and it will be on Saturday afternoon. They’ll be in the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN hosting the Detroit Pistons. Tipoff will be at 4:30pm on ABC.
