WEEKEND SPORTS: Mitchell State Wrestling final day, Three DWU sports in action & Wrestlers get All-Conference honors, Jackrabbit Hoops & Timberwolves at Denver

Mitchell

The Kernel wrestling teams compete in their Varsity State Tournaments for their final day on Saturday. Both the boys and the girls finish things out at the Sioux Falls Premiere Center. Start time is listed as TBD on the Mitchell Activities Calendar.

DWU

The Tiger women’s wrestling team with compete in their GPAC Tournament on Saturday afternoon. They’ll be over in Hastings, NE and begin at 11am. For the men, a pair of athletes received All-Conference honors. Those being Jagger Tyler (first team) and Kipp Cordes (second team). Thes two will compete alongside Teagan Foreman at the NAIA National Tournament starting on Thursday, March 5.

The Tiger softball team competing again in Sioux Center, IA this Saturday for another doubleheader against two different teams. DWU will play at Noon against William Penn (IA) and at 4pm against Viterbo.

The No. 9 Tiger women’s basketball team will continue the Great Plains Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament with the Semifinals on Saturday afternoon. The No. 2 seed Tigers will host the No. 3 seed Hastings in the Corn Palace. Tipoff is set for 3pm.

SDSU

The Jackrabbit basketball teams will each face the University of South Dakota tomorrow to round out their regular season. They’ll be in two different locations though with the women at home and the men on the road. The men play first at 1pm and the women will play at First Bank & Trust Arena later in the day at 6pm. Both games will air on the Summit League Network/Midco Sports Two.

NBA

The Minnesota Timberwolves get back to the court this Sunday after a couple of days off. They will be at Ball Arena in Denver, CO taking on the Denver Nuggets. Tipoff is at 2:30pm and airing on ABC.
