Saturday’s Basketball Games

Mitchell

The Kernel basketball teams are in action on Saturday against Spearfish. It begins with the sophomore boys starting at 11am, then the JV girls starting at Noon. Boys JV will play at 12:30pm and the sophomore girls start at 1:30pm. Freshman boys game is at 2pm. Varsity will have the (RV) Kernel girls playing first at 3pm followed by the boys who tipoff at 3:30pm.

The Kernel gymnastics team will have their Class AA Qualifier Varsity Meet on Saturday. It will go down at Watertown high school and begin at 2pm.

The Kernel boys wrestling team will compete in a varsity tournament on Saturday. They’ll be at Yankton high school and begin at 9am.

DWU

The Tiger softball team will continue in Sioux Center, IA playing at the ASB Sports Complex Softball Classic on Saturday. DWU will take on York (NE) first at Noon and then play Culver-Stockton (MO) at 4pm. 

The Tiger baseball team will begin their season Saturday afternoon, and it will also be their home opener. They’ll be here in Mitchell, SD playing at Drake Field against Valley City State. It will be a doubleheader with games played at 1 & 3pm. They will play them again Sunday as well at Noon and 2pm.

The Tiger track & field teams are both home in Mitchell, SD on Saturday. They will compete in the DWU Alumni Open at the DWU/Avera Sports & Wellness Complex. Which begins at 11am.

The Tiger wrestling teams are each competing on Saturday in two different locations. The women will be at the Grand View Open in Des Moines, IA at Sisam Arena. They’ll begin at 9am. The men will be in the GPAC Duals against both Hastings & Concordia (NE) in Crete, NE. They will get started at 2pm.

SDSU

The Jackrabbit men’s basketball team is hitting the court on Saturday to play in the Interstate Series against the South Dakota Coyotes. They will host it at the First Bank & Trust Arena in Brookings, SD and the game will air on CBS Sports Network at 5pm.

NBA

The Minnesota Timberwolves are on National TV this Sunday. They’ll be at home in Minneapolis, MN at the Target Center and hosting the Los Angeles Clippers at 1pm on ESPN.

NFL

On Sunday, we will have the final game of the NFL season. The Super Bowl. Super Bowl LX is set as the Seattle Seahawks face the New England Patriots at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA with kickoff at 5:30pm. It will air on NBC/Peacock.
