MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — Half of Cadwell Park is without water Wednesday night after an accident made by the construction crew working on facility improvements.

While digging a detention pond that would help control flooding from heavy rains, a water line was ruptured. The hope is to repair the line within 24 hours, but until then there will be no water service for the west softball fields, dog park, and the restroom next to the practice football fields.

The ruptured line was announced on social media just after 7:30 p.m.
