MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — The Mitchell Municipal Band has already opted to move its weekly concert indoors on Wednesday, due to forecasted hot weather.

With the expected high now predicted at 97 degrees, the group will forego the Hitchcock Park Band Shell for the climate-controlled comfort of the state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center attached to Mitchell High School. The new theatre at 821 N. Capital Street features three tiers of seating, a spacious stage area for the band to set up and play on, and fine-tuned acoustics that will help to bring the theme “Music in Color” to life.

The show begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free to the public. It is directed by Jason Laczkoski.
