SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) South Dakota’s two busiest airports are set to benefit from more than $760,000 in state-approved funding. The Aeronautics Commission is distributing leftover dollars from Senate Bill 144, with Sioux Falls Regional Airport receiving just under $350,000 and Rapid City Regional Airport getting about $413,000. Rapid City Airport Director Patrick Dame says the funding will support the next phases of a multi-year, multi-million-dollar terminal expansion project, a plan nearly a decade in the making to meet rising passenger demand.
