DWU Basketball

The Tiger basketball teams competed in the third annual Battle of the Blues against the Dakota State Trojans last night. It started with a Top 15 matchup between the No. 14 Tigers and No. 4 Trojans and was even in most quarters, but it was the opener that was DWU’s demise. They lost Q1 25-18, and the Trojans remained ahead by just enough to seal a 74-62 win. Emma Yost led the Tigers with 15 points, Rylee Rosenquist added 14 and Avery Broughton had a 10-point & 10-rebound double-double. The Tiger women are now 5-3 overall. Prior to the game, earlier in the day, Rosenquist (Offense) and Broughton (Defense) swept the Great Plains Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Week awards. For the men, they also had a close battle against DSU. It was knotted up 30 apiece after the first half, but the Trojans stepped on the gas in the second half and won the game, 64-53. Tyson Stevenson led DWU with 14 points, Anthony Riggans added 11 and Randy Rosenquist had 10. The Tiger men are now 5-5 overall

SDSU Basketball

The Jackrabbit basketball teams are competing in the Big Sky – Summit Challenge through Saturday. They’ll have a pair of games with one at home and the other in Flagstaff, AZ. Tonight, it gets going as the (RV) Jackrabbit women (6-2) facing Weber State (2-5) at home at First Bank & Trust Arena in Brookings, SD. Tipoff is at 7pm and will air on the Summit League Network. The Jackrabbit men (4-4) will be in Flagstaff, AZ taking on Northern Arizona (4-2) with tipoff at 7pm.

NFL

Week 14 in the NFL starts on Thursday with Thursday Night Football. It’ll be the Dallas Cowboys at the Detroit Lions on Prime Video. The game will be played at Ford Field in Detroit, MI and kickoff is at 7:15pm.

NBA

The Minnesota Timberwolves took on the New Orleans Pelicans last night on the road in New Orleans, who were without Zion Williamson due to injury. Though without Williamson, the Pelicans were still able to take the Timberwolves to overtime. Though it was still Minnesota who emerged victorious with a 149-142 win in OT. Anthony Edwards led the way with 44 points. The Timberwolves are now 13-8 overall. They’ll play again tomorrow night in another game against New Orleans.
