Mitchell Volleyball

The Kernel volleyball teams get back to the volleyball court tomorrow after their five-set thriller against Sioux Falls Jefferson last night in Mitchell that they won, 3-2. They are set to face Watertown next at Watertown Civic Arena with JV and freshman playing at 4:30pm, sophomores at 5:30pm and varsity at 6:30pm.

Mitchell Cross Country

The Kernel cross country teams will be competing tomorrow. They will run in the Roger Loecker Invite in Huron. It will take place at Huron Broadland Creek Golf Course at 4pm.

DWU Golf

The Tiger women’s golf team have their final results from The Statesman competition. They ended up getting fourth place in the event with a trio of players in the Top 20. Sara Sudenga sits tied for 19th at 36 over par. Ashton Austreim ended in eighth place and 23 over par, plus Allison Meyerink got fourth at 20 over par.

DWU Soccer

The Tiger soccer teams are both on the road today and headed to Forest City, Iowa. They will take on the Waldorf Warriors on Bolstorff Field with the men playing first at 5pm and the women playing at 7:30pm. DWU also had their very own Zackary Stephens named the Great Plains Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Stephens had a season-best effort against the No. 25 Midland Warriors, recording seven total saves to earn the Tigers a ranked win, and move to tied-second place in the GPAC standings. Stephens also registered a crucial late save that gave Dakota Wesleyan the advantage to score the game-winning goal in the 84th minute. He has registered 23 saves on the season so far.

DWU Volleyball

The (RV) Tiger volleyball team remains at home tonight. They will be in the Christen Athletic Center hosting Morningside at 7:30pm here in Mitchell. Additionally, the Tigers had a pair of players named Player-of-the-Week in the GPAC. Kayleigh Hybertson was named Setter-of-the-Week and Elizabeth Tyler was named Defender-of-the-Week. In a pair of sweeps against Doane and Hastings, Hybertson posted 67 assists (11.17 assists-per-set). She has racked up 714 assists so far in the 2025-26 season with a full average of 9.78 per set. On the defensive, Tyler registered 44 digs between six sets. She has tallied 382 digs on the season so far, good for 5.23 per set.

MLB

The Championship Series continued with Game 2 between the No. 3 seed Los Angeles Dodgers and the No. 1 seed Milwaukee Brewers. It was the Dodgers again who did what needed to be done and got the win, 5-1. They now lead the series 2-0.

NFL

Thursday Night Football kicks off the week 7 action in the NFL. You will have the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Cincinnati Bengals on Prime Video. The game is set to begin at 7:15pm.
