Mitchell Basketball

The Kernel basketball teams will be playing on neutral ground today when they travel over to the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, SD for the Throwback Classic against Huron. It’ll start with Boys/Girls JV and freshman boys playing at 3:30pm, followed by the sophomore boys/girls at 4:45pm. Then the night will end with your varsity matchups. The (RV) Kernel girls will play at 6pm and then the Kernel boys will play after at 7:30pm.

Mitchell Wrestling

The Kernel wrestling teams are set to compete in their Varsity Triangular’s that were postponed last week on Jan. 23 in Brandon, SD. That will go down tonight at Brandon Valley high school, and both teams will begin at 5pm.

DWU Wrestling

The (RV) Tiger men’s wrestling team will be in action tonight in Mitchell, SD in the Christen Athletic Center. They’ll be hosting No. 25 Morningside for Senior Night and it will have a whiteout theme for the night! Tigers and Mustangs hit the mats at 7pm.

DWU Basketball

The Tiger basketball teams will be in Mitchell, SD tomorrow night hosting the Briar Cliff Chargers for their Pink the Palace and Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night. Games will be played in the Corn Palace with the No. 9 women’s basketball team beginning at 6pm and then the men’s team will play afterwards at 7:45pm.

DWU Baseball

The Tiger baseball team was picked eighth in the 2026 Great Plains Athletic Conference Coaches Preseason Poll over the weekend. DWU received 34 points after a 13-37 record last season. The Tigers begin their season on Valentine’s Day over in Joplin, MO against Clark (IA) & College of the Ozarks. Their home opener will be March 12 against Bismarck State.

SDSU Basketball

The Jackrabbit basketball teams are both set to take on Omaha tomorrow night, but in two different locations. The women will be at home at First Bank & Trust Arena in Brookings, SD with tipoff set for 7pm and airing on Midco Sports/Summit League Network. The men will be in Omaha, NE playing Omaha also at 7pm. This will air only on the Summit League Network.

NBA

The Minnesota Timberwolves ended their losing skid last night when they got past the Golden State Warriors who were without Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. It was a 108-83 win for Minnesota who also played without one of their stars, Anthony Edwards. Julius Randle led the scoring with 18 points and Rudy Gobert added a 15-point and 17-rebound double-double. They improved to 28-19 overall.
