Mitchell Basketball

The Kernel basketball teams travel out west for the weekend and will be in action against Sturgis tomorrow night. It begins with the boys/girls JV and boys freshman teams all playing at 3:30pm, followed by the sophomore boys/girls playing at 4:45pm. Then you’ll have the varsity as the (RV) Kernel girls play at 6pm and the boys will follow and play at 7:30pm. All listed times are mountain time, which is one hour behind central time.

Mitchell Wrestling

The Kernel wrestling teams will be competing in a Varsity Dual tonight. They’ll be on the road taking on Pierre at Pierre Riggs high school. The girls begin at 6pm and the boys start at 7pm.

Mitchell Hockey

The Marlins boys varsity hockey team will be back in Mitchell, SD tomorrow night. They’ll be hosting Yankton in the Mitchell Activities Center in the Toshiba Rink. The puck will drop at 8pm.

DWU Softball

The Tiger softball team get their season started tomorrow on the road. They will be in Sioux Center, IA playing at the ASB Sports Complex Softball Classic. DWU will take on York (NE) first at Noon and then play Culver-Stockton (MO) at 4pm.

SDSU Basketball

The Jackrabbit basketball teams each played against St. Thomas last night. The women cruised to another win after taking care of business on the road and winning, 84-51. Madison Mathiowetz led in scoring with 21 points and Brooklyn Meyer added 19. For the men, it was another tight ball game early, but second half woes continue and they fell 77-62. Joe Sayler led SDSU in scoring with 16 points.

NBA

The Minnesota Timberwolves made their way to Canada last night and faced the Toronto Raptors. It was a close game throughout between the two teams, but it was Minnesota who emerged with a 128-126 win. Anthony Edwards led the way with 30 points. Minnesota improves to 32-20 overall.
