Mitchell Volleyball

The No. 8 seed Kernel volleyball team fell in their opening game of the State Tournament yesterday afternoon to No. 1 seed Harrisburg, 3-0. Mitchell did all they could, but the back-to-back-to-back champs were too much to overcome. They will now take on No. 4 seed Harrisburg (19-6) at 11am MT/Noon CT today at Summit Arena at the Monument in Rapid City, SD. If they win, they’ll play for the Consolation Championship tomorrow afternoon.

DWU Volleyball

The No. 25 Tiger volleyball team (18-11) begins National Tournament action tomorrow in Parkville, MO. DWU will face the No. 23 Park Pirates (20-7) at the Breckon Sports Center. First serve will be at 6pm.

DWU Wrestling

The Tiger women’s wrestling team will be competing bright and early tomorrow morning. They’ll get started at 9am in the Beaver Bash at the MSU Dome in Minot, ND.

DWU Basketball

The Tiger basketball teams remain at home this weekend in the World’s Only Corn Palace. Tomorrow they will take on the Midland Warriors. The No. 19 women’s basketball team (3-2) will face Warrior WBB (0-6) beginning at 2pm. The Tiger men (4-3) will face Warrior MBB (2-4) after the women’s game at around 3:45pm.

SDSU Basketball

The (RV) Jackrabbit women’s basketball team took on Gonzaga at The Pentagon in Sioux Falls, SD yesterday. It was their closest game of the year so far, but they still managed to come away victorious and beat Gonzaga, 72-63. Madison Mathiowetz and Katie Vasecka combined for 33 points in the win to lead the Jackrabbits. The men’s basketball team (3-2) will play at home at the First Bank & Trust Arena in Brookings, SD tonight when they host Georgia State (1-4). The game will tipoff at 7pm and air on the Summit League Network.

NFL

Thursday Night Football between the Buffalo Bills and the Houston Texans went down last night. It was a tough night for Josh Allen and the Bills as he threw two interceptions, no touchdowns and threw for just 253 yards passing. Houston took the win over Buffalo, 23-19.

NBA

The Minnesota Timberwolves return to the court tonight. Minnesota will play on the road when they matchup with the Phoenix Suns for NBA Cup – Group Play at 8pm on NBA League Pass.

Cooper Flagg scored the most points by an 18-year-old in NBA history, but he couldn't enjoy the accomplishment because it came in a loss. Flagg had 42 points — topping the previous mark of 37 set by LeBron James on Dec. 13, 2003 — in a 140-133 loss to the Utah Jazz on Monday night.
