SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) A Sioux Falls man with a history of eluding police is headed to federal prison. Boru Wako, Jr. has been sentenced to seven years behind bars for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and illegal receipt of a firearm while under indictment. The conviction stems from a 2023 incident when Wako fled police in a stolen vehicle, later abandoning it and escaping on foot after stealing another car. Officers found a firearm in the first vehicle with Wako’s DNA on it. Wako will also serve three years of supervised release following his prison term.
