PIERRE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW)  The South Dakota Supreme Court has issued a summary disposition regarding the Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo’s dispute with Horsemen’s Sports.  The court affirmed the judgment that Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo had the right to move its belongings to a new rodeo site.  The belongings had been on land that was being leased by the rodeo from Horsemen’s Sports.  The order was filed Monday and was signed by Chief Justice Steven Jensen.  It stated that the issues on appeal were settled by state and federal law and that the issues were factual and “there clearly is sufficient evidence to support the verdict below.”  The Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo was cancelled last summer due to the dispute between the two parties.  Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo is moving to new grounds west of the Mitchell Airport.  Horsemen’s Sports held an event called Shootout At The Lake at its arena, which had been the longtime home of the Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo.  A second Shootout At The Lake is scheduled for this summer.
