Parkston – Saluma Ann Hohn, 95, went to her heavenly home Friday, July 1 at Avera Bormann Manor. Funeral mass will be Friday, July 8 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston. Visitation will be Thursday, July 7 from 5 to 7 pm with a 6:30 pm prayer service at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston.

Saluma Ann Hohn was born February 4, 1927 to Nick and Anna (Schoo) Herrmann on the family farm west of Dimock, SD. She attended parochial school through the 8th grade. She was united in marriage to Elmer Hohn on February 10, 1948 in Parkston, SD. They farmed near Dimock until retiring in 1980 and moving into Parkston in 1982. After moving into town, Saluma worked at the Parkston Senior Citizen’s Center for many years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Altar Society and enjoyed playing cards, watching the Twins and celebrating her birthday. She loved her family and attended all of her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s events.

Grateful for having shared her life are her 3 children: Mary (August) Geigle of Parkston; Robert (Diane) Hohn of Mitchell, SD; and Doug (Jill) Hohn of Dimock; 6 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 18 step great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way; and a sister-in-law, Nellie Hohn of Parkston.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer; a son-in-law, Clarence Denke; and 6 siblings: Clarence Herrmann, Bernadette Ware, Rita Koster, Lorraine Herrmann, Vern Herrmann and Sally Carraher.
