Rounds Says GOP Watching Trump’s Tariff Moves Closely

MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) President Trump’s shifting tariff policies on foreign imports have drawn little pushback from Congress, even though lawmakers hold constitutional authority over tariffs. South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds says most Republicans are comfortable with the President’s approach but are closely monitoring the impacts. Rounds noted that Trump views tariffs differently than many in Congress. He made the remarks during an ag policy forum at Dakotafest in Mitchell.
