Road Construction Forces Adjustment to Garbage Collection for Homes Along W. 13th Avenue

MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — Construction is changing how garbage gets collected for some homeowners on W. 13th Avenue in Mitchell.

The pavement is tore up between Minnesota and Wisconsin Streets, making it difficult for collection trucks to crawl along in front of homes. Instead, all garbage, recycling, and yard waste will be grabbed in the alley out back.

The change goes into effect on June 15th and will continue until construction is over for that section of road. City staff are thanking residents for their patience and understanding.
