RAPID CITY , S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) – Dakota Wesleyan University, along with partners Monument Health and Elevate Rapid City, will celebrate the establishment of its A.S. nursing program based in Rapid City. The ribbon cutting will be held at the program’s location in Monument Health’s “Turbine Building,” located at 1400 Turbine Drive on Tuesday, Nov. 19. The event begins at 11 a.m.
Students enrolled in the nursing program will receive an Associate of Science degree in nursing. A high school diploma is all that is required to apply for admission. Offered year-round for 24 months, graduates will be ready to sit for the RN licensing exam. High school graduates or those wishing to pursue a nursing career may enroll in the program whether they have healthcare experience or not. Classes began in August 2024 with a full cohort.
Those attending the ribbon cutting will be able to meet DWU representatives and students and hear from faculty and supporters about the program’s progress. Light refreshments will be served.
Applications for prospective students are being accepted for Fall 2025. For more information about the program or to apply, visit https://www.dwu.edu/A-S-Nursing-Rapid-City.
