Reliance Man Sentenced in Federal Meth Conspiracy

RELIANCE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) A Reliance man will spend seven years in federal prison for his role in a large meth distribution ring. Heath Choal was sentenced on Monday after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Prosecutors say the operation ran from 2023 to 2024 and moved up to 35 pounds of meth in the Pierre area. Choal will also serve three years of supervised release after his prison term.
