A longtime Mitchell hotel and events center has closed its doors. The Ramada Hotel and Conference Center at the corner of West Havens and South Ohlman will become an apartment complex. Those who have reservations for special occasions in 2022 and 2023 such as weddings, birthdays, and reunions will be contacted and refunded their deposit money. The hotel contains several special event rooms as well as a pool and a bar/restaurant, which has been known through the years as Brandy’s, The Shipwreck Lounge, Shay’s, and mostly recently, the Rebel Rooster. The hotel was built in 1968 as a Holiday Inn.
