Perkins Fire Ruled “Suspicious”

MITCHELL S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Due to the circumstances surrounding this incident, only the following details are being released to the public. A forensic analysis of evidence collected from Perkin’s restaurant fire has been completed. Items collected have been deemed to not have been the cause of the fire. With the completion of this analysis, it is appropriate to identify this fire as suspicious in nature. The origin of the fire was located but the cause of the fire was unable to be determined during the investigation. Electronic and mechanical devices in the fires area of origin were ruled out by fire investigators as a possible ignition source. Any person having information in regards to this incident is encouraged to contact the Mitchell Police Department. This will continue to be an ongoing investigation.
