Opening Round Matchups for State Amateur Tournament at Cadwell Park Announced

MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — The first four days of action have been scheduled for the 2026 Class B state amateur baseball tournament.

The pairings for the opening round were made during an online selection show Sunday, with games beginning on Wednesday afternoon. All games will take place at Cadwell Park in Mitchell, and several local teams will be participating. The Alexandria Angels enter the tournament as the number one seed in Class B. Games featuring area squads will air on Kool 98.3.

The opening round pairings are listed below.

Wednesday, Aug. 5

Elk Point vs. Parkston Mudcats, 5:30 p.m.
Valley Springs vs. Kimball/White Lake, 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 6

Dell Rapids PBR vs. Colome, 11 a.m.
Garretson vs. Lesterville, 1 p.m.
Wynot vs. Lake Norden, 5:30 p.m.
Alexandria vs. Crofton, 7:30 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 7

Groton vs. Lennox, 11 a.m.
Volga vs. Salem, 1 p.m.
Wessington Springs vs. Clark, 5:30 p.m.
Tabor vs. Mount Vernon, 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 8

Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks vs. Parkston Rays, 11 a.m.
Dell Rapids Mudcats vs Winner/Colome Pheasants, 1 p.m.
Canova vs. Castlewood, 5:30 p.m.
Burke vs Redfield DQ, 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, Aug. 9

Flandreau vs. Larchwood, 11 a.m.
