MINNEHAHA COUNTY, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW)  One person was killed and three others were injured in a single-vehicle crash on I-29 three miles northwest of Baltic on Monday morning.
The names of the persons involved have not been released pending notification of family members.
Preliminary crash information indicates the driver of a 2024 Volvo lost control of the vehicle at around 10:30 AM, which then left the roadway and entered the median. The vehicle rolled before coming to a final rest. There were four occupants in the vehicle, and three were ejected from it. A 21-year old male suffered fatal injuries. The other three occupants, all males ages 27, 25, and 23, received serious non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. Poor weather conditions were a contributing factor in the crash.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
