MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Bill Mawhiney, longtime leader of the South Dakota Afterschool Network, has announced his candidacy for the U.S. House. Mawhiney says he isn’t a career politician but wants to put people ahead of politics while giving rural and working families a stronger voice. He lives in Sioux Falls with his husband and two children and has spent nearly two decades advancing childcare, education, and afterschool programs across the state.
