MITCHELL – Dakota Wesleyan University Athletics and Athletic Director Jon Hart today announced Nicolas Reinhard as the next head women’s soccer coach. Reinhard will be the fourth head women’s soccer coach since the program began in 2005.
Reinhard, a native of Germany, has spent the previous three-years at Trevecca Nazarene University (TNU) in Nashville, Tenn., where he played and earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management. After earning his master’s in business administration, he served as the top assistant coach for three seasons. During his time at TNU (NCAA DII), Reinhard was responsible for assisting in daily operations, leading the reserve team as well as building and growing recruiting networks both in the U.S. and abroad.
Hart spoke about the appointment of Reinhard, stating, “Coach Reinhard is going to be a spectacular fit for our women’s soccer program. He has a strong background and foundation as a coach and player that will resonate well with leading this team to new heights. He emerged very early in the interview process and had outstanding feedback from our search committee and players. We can’t wait to welcome Nico and his wife Kallie to the DWU family.”
Before playing collegiality, Reinhard played on the German Bundesliga U19 team. Reinhard was a three-time All-Conference player for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC), as well as receiving the 2018 Google Cloud NCAA DII Academic All-District honor.
Reinhard is excited to begin his new head women’s soccer coach position. “I am very excited to be named the next head women’s soccer coach at Dakota Wesleyan University. I would like to thank Jon Hart, Theresa Kriese and the members of the search committee for entrusting me with this position. The opportunity to put my own stamp on the program by leading young student-athletes through an experience that goes far beyond the athletic success is a privilege and honor that I will not take for granted. I’m thankful to be part of an institution that prioritizes the holistic success of all students and is highly regarded academically. My wife, Kallie Reinhard, and I cannot wait to be part of the DWU and Mitchell community.”
Reinhard went on to offer his gratitude for professional and family support. “I would also like to thank Danny Leavy and Mark Elliott at Trevecca Nazarene University for equipping and preparing me for this position, as well as my family back in Germany, my wife, and her parents for their unconditional support.”
Reinhard will begin his coaching role at DWU beginning on June 6.
