MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — The City of Mitchell has installed new all-way stop signs at the intersection of 1st Avenue and Foster Street. The change aims to improve traffic safety and visibility at the busy crossing.

Update: An accident occurred at the intersection, causing a fuel leak midafternoon on Thursday, November 13th, and briefly shut down the new all-way stop.

City officials are advising motorists to slow down, stay alert, and watch for other drivers who may be unfamiliar with the new traffic pattern. The all-way stop is now in effect, and drivers are reminded to come to a complete stop and yield the right-of-way according to standard traffic rules.
