Name Released in Fatal Pedestrian Crash Near Irene

IRENE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Authorities have released the name of a man killed in a car-versus-pedestrian crash west of Irene. The Department of Public Safety says 67-year-old Timothy Nelson was hit by an eastbound Tesla while walking in the roadway Thursday. He later died at the hospital. No charges are pending. The Mitchell Corn Palace will host a free flu vaccine clinic on Tuesday, October 14, from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m.. The event is open to children ages six months to 18 years and adults up to age 64.
