Moody County law enforcement officer killed in vehicle pursuit Friday afternoon

MADISON, SD (MITCHELL NOW) South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley has confirmed that Moody County Deputy Sheriff Ken Prorok was killed in the line of duty during a vehicle pursuit Friday afternoon in Moody County.  The 51-year old from Wentworth had been with the Moody County Sheriff’s Office since 2016.  40-year old Joseph Gene Hoek of Sioux Falls has been arrested in connection with the incident that led to Prorok’s death.  Hoek is being held in the Lake County Jail in Madison.  He is set to appear in court this morning at 9 AM.
