MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — Area school children in need of having a cavity filled are in luck next month.

Mitchell School District 17-2 published a notice on Facebook Sunday night touting a partnership between the Delta Dental Mobile program and Avera Health. Hygienists will be at the Avera Grassland Campus from July 27-31 to provide oral health care, free of charge, for underserved kids.

Children are eligible from roughly one year old (whenever their first tooth emerges) until 21 if they have gone at least two years without seeing a local dentist. Delta Dental recommends that anyone on a regular care schedule should continue what they are already doing, since their current dentist will be much more familiar with their care situation.

Anyone wanting to schedule an exam through the mobile program, needs to call Access Health Pediatrics at 605-995-4900.
