Mitchell Students, Community Members to Visit Pierre for “Mitchell Day at the Legislature” Feb. 19

MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — Students and community members from Mitchell will travel to the South Dakota State Capitol in Pierre on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, for “Mitchell Day at the Legislature.”

Organizers said the visit is designed to help participants learn how state government works and meet directly with elected officials during the legislative session.

The group plans to tour the Capitol and visit several state offices during the day, including the Public Utilities Commission, the State Treasurer’s Office and the School and Public Lands Office.
