Mitchell Baseball

The Kernel baseball team has had some recognition recently for some of their athletes. Mitchell had three players earn Class A baseball All-Region honors by the South Dakota High School Baseball Association yesterday. Those were seniors Jacob Ebert and Jaxon Hartman, as well as junior Lincoln Bottum. Ebert was selected as a pitcher with 27 2/3 innings on the mound with a 4-1 record, a 1.51 earned-run average (ERA) and 22 strikeouts. Hartman was a utility player who managed 16 hits, had 14 runs batted in (RBI), 13 runs scored and a .327 batting average. Bottom was primarily a third baseman and posted 21 total hits, 12 runs scored, had 11 RBI’s and a .344 batting average.

DWU Golf

The Tiger women’s golf team will have one of their very own competing today on the biggest stage for a second consecutive season. Allison Meyerink will be at the NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships in Ypsilanti, MI. She will be playing over the next three days through May 21 at Eagle Crest Golf Club. The first tee time will be at 6:30am.

MLB

The Minnesota Twins hosted the Houston Astros last night in Minneapolis, MN as they begin their series. It was a 6-3 win by the Twins, and all of their damage was done in the first six innings. Powered by two home-runs from Josh Bell. Minnesota and Houston will play again tonight at 6:40pm on MLBTV.

NBA

The Conference Finals in the NBA began last night. It continues tonight with the Eastern Conference games getting started! It’ll be the No. 4 seed Cleveland Cavaliers at the No. 3 seed New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY. The tipoff will be at 7pm on ESPN.
