Mitchell School Board to revisit electronic communications policy, finalize superintendent’s contract

The Mitchell School Board meets at 5:30 today at the MCTEA building across from Mitchell High School.  The board will revisit Policy 222, which concerns communication between board members via electronic devices and email.  Changes in some of the language in the policy may be considered to not violate open meetings laws.  Possible changes in the policy’s language would also give board members more leeway if communicating with too few members to constitute a quorum or communicating regarding non-school board topics.

Also on today’s agenda is an executive session where the board is expected to make a minor change in the contract of Superintendent Dr. Joe Childs and a revision of the 2023-24 school calendar.

Today’s Mitchell School Board meeting is open to the public.
