Mitchell School Board Elects Leaders, Approves Purchases and Policy Updates

MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) After a month-long delay, the Mitchell School Board has elected Brittni Flood as president and Shawn Ruml as vice president, finalizing its leadership through next July. The board also approved a $220,000 boring machine purchase for Mitchell Technical College, bids for materials on two student-built houses, and first readings of updated policies, including sexual harassment and weapons regulations. A public surplus sale of items from the old high school is set for Aug. 23. Numerous staff hires, transfers, and resignations were also approved.
