Mitchell Prepares for Non-Resident Pheasant Hunting Opener October 18

MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Mitchell is gearing up to welcome hunters from across the country for the non-resident pheasant hunting opener on Saturday, October 18. The Chamber of Commerce will greet visitors Friday morning at Cabela’s with Mitchell giveaways and local information, followed by the annual Pheasants Forever Banquet that night at the Corn Palace. According to South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks, pheasant numbers remain strong thanks to favorable weather and good nesting conditions.
