MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) A Mitchell woman and a man facing a long list of child abuse-related charges both pleaded not guilty last week in Davison County court. Becky Robertson entered pleas to charges of accessory to a felony and witness tampering. She remains jailed on a $10,000 cash bond. Also in court was Eric Opperman, who faces 44 felonies and a misdemeanor tied to alleged abuse spanning more than a decade involving multiple minors. He pleaded not guilty to new counts of violating a no-contact order and tampering with a witness, after police say he sent letters from jail directing Robertson to pressure a victim into recanting. Both defendants are now scheduled for jury trials in December. If convicted, Opperman could face 10 years to life in prison. For more Government stories from MitchellNow.com, Click Here.
