Mitchell Marching Band Snags 2nd Place in Season Opener

MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The Mitchell High School marching band is off to a strong start, earning second place and best color guard at the Pursuit of Excellence in Marshall, Minnesota. The Mitchell Republic reports it was the first big contest under their new director, who says the students gave one of their best performances yet. The 107-member band is performing a western-themed show called Desperado this year. Locals can catch them at halftime of Friday’s homecoming football game before they head to their next competition in Iowa on October 4th.
