MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) A Mitchell man is facing charges after a high-speed chase early Thursday morning. Around 1:10 a.m., a Davison County deputy spotted Corey Bowers driving 66 miles per hour in a 30-mile-per-hour construction zone on Highway 37 near the Spillway. Deputies say Bowers refused to stop, leading them on a pursuit into Sanborn County before turning back toward Mitchell. Spike strips were deployed, bringing the vehicle to a stop near Highway 37 and 251st Street. Bowers was arrested and charged with aggravated eluding, reckless driving, and no proof of insurance.
