MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Mitchell High School Principal, Mr. Justin Siemsen, has announced that the first day of school will be Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Back to School Registration Day for MHS students will be Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to noon, and from 1:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m. Students will receive their class schedule and laptop at this time. Completion of the online Annual Information Update (found in Parent Portal via Infinite Campus) and Student Online Info Form (found on the MHS website) is required before the student can receive their schedule or laptop. MHS website: https://www.mitchell.k12.sd.us/ Student information packets were mailed to all high school students. If you did not receive the packet, contact the high school office as soon as possible (995-3034). Students that are new to the district must provide a copy of a birth certificate and an immunization record. A locker will be assigned to any student who desires one. A deposit fee of $5 will be charged for the locker key. A $10.00 fee will be charged for replacement keys. Student pictures will also be taken on July 31st. All students must have their picture taken for student IDs. If a student is unable to attend registration, picture make-up day will be Thursday, September 19th. Hot lunches will be served on the first day of school. The cost for lunch at the high school is $3.00 for students; the cost for breakfast is $2.00. Activity passes for school sponsored activities for the 2024-2025 school year will be sold for $40.00 for students in grades K-12. All checks should be made payable to Mitchell School District. It is requested that two separate checks be written for activity passes and lunch account payments. Debit cards and credit cards will NOT be accepted. There will also be a Fall Activities Meeting Tuesday, August 6th at 7:00 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center Auditorium.
