Friend De Coup earned Grand Champion, Best Vocals and Best Choreography awards during the 2021 Show Choir Live Virtual Competition on April 10.

Twenty-eight choirs from Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin competed for the championship during three separate weeks of virtual competitions in February and March with the finals held virtually on April 10.

In addition to Saturday’s win, FDC earned Grand Champion Awards at Sioux Falls Washington’s “Best of Show”, Vermillion’s “Rhythm in Red”, Lewis Central’s “Clash of the Titans” in Council Bluffs, IA, Aberdeen’s “Center Stage”, and the Show Choir Live Competition, giving the choir the first ever undefeated season and two “Best Band” awards.

Other awards FDC earned during the 2020-2021 season are as follows:
a. Sioux Falls Washington “Best of Show”: Best Choreography (& Best Band)
b. Show Choir Live (virtual) – Week 1 Qualifier: Best Vocals, Best Choreography, Best Show Design
c. Lewis Central: Best Choreography, 1st Place – 4A (& Best Band)
d. Aberdeen: Best Soloist-Terrell Kirchhevel, Best Soloist-Logan Culhane
e. Show Choir Live Finals: Best Vocals & Best Choreography

This win completes the 2020-2021 FDC competition season.
