MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The Mitchell City Council on Monday will consider a pitch from Retail Strategies, a firm that helps cities recruit new businesses by tracking consumer shopping patterns. According to the The Daily Republic, Mayor Jordan Hanson included $50,000 for a retail study in his 2026 budget, saying one successful business generating $2.5 million in sales could pay for the program through city sales tax in the first year. Retail Strategies projects results could take up to three years. The council will also continue budget reviews, discuss union contracts, and consider annexations and construction projects. The session begins at 5 p.m. at City Hall. For more Government stories from MitchellNow.com, Click Here.
