MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) A plan to revamp Mitchell’s city-owned Lakeview Golf Course has hit a snag. According to the Daily Republic,  During Monday’s budget work session, the city council debated whether to include a new five-hole short course in the 2026 budget. The $1.05 million project would serve as a training course for kids and beginners, but council member Dan Sabers said he’d rather postpone upgrades another year. Others, like John Doescher, questioned how the city would fund the project, urging Lakeview to boost memberships first. The proposal now heads back to the Golf and Cemetery Board, which meets October 16th to make a recommendation. For more Government stories from MitchellNow.com, Click Here.
