MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — It’s been open for about three weeks now, but Wednesday’s ribbon cutting will make it official.

The Mitchell Chamber Connect Mitchell Committee is holding a ceremony at 4:00 p.m. at Gainer Park for the new playground equipment at the facility. Organizers are encouraging the whole family to come to the event, especially kids so they can put the playground through its paces.

Gainer Park is located on the corner of N. Minnesota Street and W. 2nd Avenue. The equipment was installed by the city’s Parks and Recreation department this spring.
