Mitchell Assisted Living Facility Teaming Up With Singer Weston Frank for Local Performance

MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — Weston Frank was exclusively a cover band musician…until he got kicked out of his own group. He got sober, went to work, and sprinkled in some humor and faith to his act. Now Frank is a major regional draw, headlining up to 120 concerts per year.

Going along with him on that rugged schedule just so happen to be two guys whose day job involves being maintenance men at Edgewood Assisted Living in Mitchell. Weston Frank and the Maintenance Men are closing the loop on this interesting coincidence with a concert at Edgewood’s facility at 501 East Spruce Street on Thursday, June 18th.

Edgewood Executive Director Kathy Shroyer tells Mitchell Now the 6:00 p.m. performance is free and open to the community. In addition to the music, Edgewood is planning on providing a meal to everyone in attendance. Registration isn’t required, but Shroyer admits the kitchen staff would appreciate getting a heads up on how many people are coming. For those who are a confirmed yes for the evening, consider calling 996-2730 to RSVP.

Bleachers will be set up in the cul-de-sac next to the building. Parking has been cleared for next door at Cabela’s. Shroyer encourages people to come early so they can tour Edgewood. It is also an opportunity to learn about the memory care building, the only one of its kind in the Mitchell area.

Frank calls himself a troubadour. Expect a set with classic country covers and original songs that blend the genre with a rock touch.
