MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) LifeQuest has asked the city of Mitchell to sponsor a grant for building several tiny homes for people with developmental disabilities on Eighth Avenue at North Gamble Street. The project, which is estimated to cost around 2 million dollars, will provide independent living with remote staff support at night. The homes will be roughly 700 square feet and include a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living space. Construction is expected to start in the summer, with residents moving in by Christmas. Mitchell Daily Republic reports that LifeQuest plans to fundraise locally, and the city will consider sponsoring the grant at the next City Council meeting on the 17th.
