SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) A Sioux Falls church program that began with one boy’s act of kindness has grown into a major community event. The Kidz-n-Coats drive at Harvest Church started in 2009 after a pastor’s son gave his coat to classmates who didn’t have one. Organizer Teresa Blauwet says the effort has expanded every year, and this season they’re distributing 1,500 coats — their largest turnout yet. The giveaway, held for the first time on a Saturday, ensures that more South Dakota children can stay warm through the winter. For more Government stories from MitchellNow.com, Click Here.
