Gregory Man Killed in UTV Crash South of Gregory

MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — A 53-year-old Gregory man died Saturday afternoon in a utility vehicle crash about one mile east and three miles south of Gregory, according to the South Dakota Highway Patrol.

Preliminary information from the Highway Patrol says the man was driving a 2016 Honda UTV southbound on 339th Avenue near 292nd Street at about 4:47 p.m. Saturday, March 7, when the vehicle left the roadway, entered a steep embankment and rolled into a creek.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said he was not wearing a seat belt. His name had not been released as of Sunday pending notification of family members.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, and all information released so far is preliminary. The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
