MITCHELL S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The estate of Curtis R. Kaberna is donating 80 acres of mostly grasslands southwest of Delmont in Charles Mix County to the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks.

His will calls for the land to be used for wildlife management and public hunting. The new GPA will be named in his honor.

GFP has also worked out a three-way property exchange that will add ground at the Cotton Slough game-production area northwest of Watertown along Lake Kampeska.

Clay Schuchard is acquiring 21.63 acres from Gayla Surgent and exchanging the triangle-shaped parcel for 12.32 acres that GFP owns at the Cotton Slough GPA. The properties are each appraised at $17,900.
