Final Games of Girls Basketball State Tournaments, DWU Baseball in GPAC play, DWU WBB advance to second round & Timberwolves vs Thunder

Area Sports

Saturday’s Girls State Tournament Games 

Class A: 

  • No. 8 seed Lakota Tech vs No. 3 seed Wagner at 11am (7th/8th place game) 

Class B: 

  • No. 8 seed Corsica-Stickney vs No. 2 seed Parkston at 5pm (3rd/4th place game)
  • No. 6 seed Harding County vs No. 4 seed Ethan at 6:45pm (Championship)

Mitchell Basketball

The (RV) Kernel girls basketball team will round out Class AA State Tournament action on Saturday. No. 7 seed Mitchell will face No. 4 seed Rapid City Stevens Saturday afternoon at 12:45pm MT/1:45pm CT to possibly earn back-to-back Consolation Championships and end the career of Head Coach Dave Brooks on a winning note.

DWU Baseball

The Tiger baseball team will face a different Great Plains Athletic Conference opponent to open conference play on Saturday afternoon. They’ll take on Northwestern tomorrow in Orange City, IA in a doubleheader beginning at 1pm.

The No. 9 Tiger basketball team continues on in 2026 NAIA Women’s Basketball National Tournament this Saturday night for their second round game. DWU, the No. 2 seed, will host No. 10 seed College of the Ozarks (MO) at the Corn Palace. Tipoff is set for 3pm.

NBA

The Minnesota Timberwolves will play basketball again on Sunday afternoon. They will remain on the road and this time be in Oklahoma City, OK taking on the Thunder. Tip off is set for 11am at the Paycom Center and airing on ABC.
