MITCHELL – Dakota Wesleyan University has been ranked among America’s 30 Best Bachelor of Multimedia Design Programs in 2021. The rating is based upon two vital statistics (yearly tuition rate and graduation rate) to determine the rating for each school.
Dakota Wesleyan’s Digital Media and Design program is varied in its scope. Students choose courses offered in the concentration areas of graphic design, web design or marketing. A unique aspect of the program is the annual design of the Corn Palace murals. Students in the program have the ability to work on the project and see their designs come to life on the exterior panels of the iconic building.
Associate professor Kyle Herges was excited to learn of the ranking. “This program really is a hidden gem for this region. With three different paths to success, our program gives students opportunities in a wide range of cutting-edge disciplines like social media marketing, user experience design and user interface design – while coupling traditional computer graphic design with marketing, social media marketing and advertising. Upon completion, graduates are in very high demand.” The program’s placement rate is 88%.
