The photos are of the Dry Run Creek area around the intersection of First and Minnesota on Friday June 21, 2024, about 10:30am.  Mitchell received nearly 5 inches of rain in a 24-hour period, causing spot flooding,  travel and other difficulties around town.  There is a flash flood watch in effect until 7am on Saturday June 22, 2024.

 

The City of Mitchell is making sandbag materials available at the City Street Shop.  The City of Mitchell will allow residents to bring materials damaged from the June 21 storm event to the City Landfill from today until next Saturday, June 29th during normal operating hours.  Materials damaged from the storm event will be accepted at no charge.
