SPRINGFIELD, SD (Mitchell Now) — An investigation is underway in Bon Homme County after the body of a missing juvenile was found near the Springfield Marina on Wednesday.

The sheriff’s office has already said they don’t believe foul play is involved, but they are asking anyone with possible information on the incident to call the office at 605-589-3942. Sheriff Mark Maggs says his department received a report of a missing juvenile on Tuesday night.

Following leads, investigators determined the teen likely went into the Missouri River near the Springfield Marina. The Yankton County Search and Rescue team was brought in to help look for the body. They recovered it at about 1:20 on Wednesday afternoon.

The name of the juvenile has not been released yet.
